Expectations:
Students will not eat on the trail or anywhere within the ReserveStudents will be actively chaperonedTrails will be used at all times by students and chaperonesStudents will not take or collect – no picking plants, pinecones, etc.Teacher will communicate if running late or other issuesRestrooms are limited to only the South Beach parking lot and next to main trailheads

What to expect upon arrival:

Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes in advance of your scheduled start time. Check-in with the entrance kiosk to receive a parking pass. Parking admission is free for school groups with a reservation.

If your class needs to use the restrooms or eat a snack before hiking, please do so at the lower parking lot, as food is not permitted at the top of the reserve.

Proceed to the upper parking lot of the reserve to check in with park staff at the Visitor Center.





If you are arriving late or get lost, please call 619-346-3701. Please leave a text message/voicemail if we are not able to answer! We’ll get back to you ASAP.

Reminder: We have a maximum number of 70 students. We also limit the number of chaperones to 1-2:8 (adult:child). We ask that all chaperones play an active role in the facilitation and supervision of activities. This program will take place outdoors so please be prepared for varied weather conditions and bring water.

*Please Note* Poor weather conditions, i.e. heavy rain, may lead to the cancellation of your appointment. Any trail closures and cancellations typically happen in the morning depending how trail conditions look. We will send a follow up email that same day to work on rescheduling you.

We allow 2 weeks from your original appointment date for you to confirm your new date with us.
